Our Breeding Program

Our breeding program is built around selective, intentional breeding with a focus on long-term quality and improvement. We do not breed simply to produce more birds. We breed to preserve, strengthen, and refine the flocks we keep, always working toward a higher standard with each new generation.

When planning our breeding groups, we focus on the traits that matter most to a strong and well-rounded flock, including health, vigor, temperament, structure, breed character, and overall consistency. We also pay close attention to breed-specific qualities such as type, color, pattern, and other defining traits that help birds more accurately represent what their breed should be.

Each breeding group is chosen with purpose. As our birds mature, they are carefully evaluated to determine which individuals best reflect the direction of our program. By breeding forward from our strongest birds and making thoughtful decisions season after season, we are able to steadily improve the quality of our flocks while remaining true to the breeds we are passionate about.

Our goal is to provide our customers with better quality birds and stronger breed representation in their own backyard. Whether our birds are being added to a homestead, a backyard flock, or a breeding program, we want them to reflect the care, intention, and purpose behind everything we do at Priority Flocks Farmstead.
